Dear Colleagues (at the Higher Education Establishments),

Welcome to our website – The Confederation of Tertiary Institutes Staff Unions (CTISU). Our union consists of 6 different institutions and in total there are 7 separate trade unions. In 2013 we together became part of the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions (HKCTU) - 香港職工會聯盟. Prior to the formation of CTISU, our component members had successfully lobbied the Government to align its salary policy for some of the higher education institutions in Hong Kong.

Overall, CTISU is concerned with:

1. Academic freedom and university autonomy in Hong Kong.
2. The current mechanism that funds different school types and programmes.
3. The transparency of higher education governance including appeals mechanism in disputes.
4. Administration of the promotion system including the tenure process for academic staff.
5. Equal opportunities for all employees, competitive salaries and benefits etc.
